President Trump’s Golf Outing Stuns Internet After People Realize Who He’s Playing Against

Tiger Woods is gearing up for his highly anticipated PGA Tour comeback, and the golf legend wasted no time hitting the links—this time with former President Donald Trump in South Florida.
The pair teed off Sunday morning at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, according to multiple sources confirmed by the White House. The outing comes just days before Woods returns to competitive action at Torrey Pines, marking his first official PGA Tour event since The Open. Meanwhile, Trump is set to attend the Super Bowl in New Orleans later the same day, keeping his schedule packed with high-profile appearances.
Woods, an eight-time winner at Torrey Pines including his unforgettable 2008 U.S. Open triumph, will travel to San Diego for the Genesis Invitational next week. Originally scheduled at Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles, the tournament was moved to Torrey Pines’ South Course due to the recent Palisades fire. Notably, Woods hasn’t completed a full 72-hole tournament since last April’s Masters.
The golf superstar’s name has also surfaced in talks surrounding the PGA Tour’s ongoing negotiations with Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. Last week, Trump met with PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan and player director Adam Scott in Washington, D.C., to discuss the sport’s future. While Woods’ presence wasn’t officially confirmed, flight-tracking data indicated his private jet landed at Dulles Airport Monday night before departing for Florida the next morning.
The PGA Tour later released a statement thanking Trump for his efforts: “We are grateful for [Trump’s] leadership in moving negotiations forward, paving the way for a reunification of men’s professional golf.”
Amid the busy schedule, Woods shared personal news: the passing of his mother, Kultida Woods, at age 80.
“My mom was a force of nature, quick with the needle and a laugh,” Woods said in a heartfelt statement. “She was my biggest supporter, and without her, none of my achievements would have been possible.”
Trump, a longtime friend of Woods, extended his condolences on social media:
“I was just informed that Tiger Woods’ great mother, Kultida, passed away—she has gone onto greener fairways! Kultida Woods was an amazing influence on Tiger and gave him much of his strength and brilliance. Melania and I send our love and prayers to Tiger and his incredible family!”
The bond between Woods and Trump has been well-documented, including their frequent golf outings and Trump awarding Woods the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2019 for his exceptional contributions to the sport.
